English Walnut always makes me think of Aero chocolate bars… which I haven’t even had for years…

.. see what I mean? Look at these lovely little pieces of bubbly grained  English Walnut. They’re busier than one of Peter’s Hawaiian shirts!

Speaking of the Master & Commander of the Kiln Dried Shed, he’s been having a tidy up in the English Walnut bay and has chopped off some long ends because they make his bay look untidy – what a neat freak.. !

Should we start a new calendar from today… from the first day in the life of our new portacabin ?

It is going to go down as quite a landmark moment at Cocking Sawmills, I can tell.. teahuts don’t grow on trees you know.. !

So Graham worked hard, as usual, getting the site ready for our new Cabin and then all of a sudden it was here…  coming round the corner of the machine shed on a very smart lorry… (more…)

It’s true !

The fruit of the Walnut tree is deemed a ‘super food’. Full of antioxidants, it is of great nutritional benefit to us humans, so it stands to reason that the wood of the Walnut tree is a ‘super wood’… full of incredible qualities and of huge nutritional benefit to us humans… well Ok, maybe not nutritional… but undoubtedly of benefit.

It sounds ominous..  The Rack..  but it really isn’t.. 

It’s a timber rack.. it’s a rack for timber.. it’s shelves, slots, gaps, rails, uprights, bays and whatever else you want to call them for keeping bits of wood off the floor.. off the forklift.. off the saw bench.. off the planer thicknesser.. off the rollers on the bandmill.. off the kitchen worktop..  and off my desk!!!
